Last call to join Measnet’s innovative Blade Testing Proficiency Test
• The 26bt01 Proficiency Test introduces a new approach, focusing on testing physical samples rather than relying on a database.
• The PT will be performed under the IEC standard 61400-23:2014.
• Applications are open until May 29, 2026, via the Measnet website.
• Measnet has collaborated with IECRE since 2015 to provide and perform PTs in accordance with this organization’s standards.
Madrid, 2026.05.13.- The registration period for the Measnet 26bt01 Blade Testing Proficiency Test (PT) is approaching its deadline, with applications open until May 29, 2026. Laboratories interested in participating can apply through the organization’s website.
The 26bt01 PT introduces a new approach, based on the testing of physical samples, rather than the use of shared databases, as in previous PTs organized by Measnet. It will be conducted according to the IEC standard 61400-23:2014.
“This methodology is intended to improve the consistency and reliability of results, while providing a more realistic framework for evaluating laboratory performance”, explained Alejandro Martinez, Measnet Vice Chairman and Technical Advisor. “Since efforts to find a suitable database proved unsuccessful, Measnet switched to a sample-based methodology that offers a more workable solution.”
This Proficiency Test will cover measuring blade strain, from installing strain gauges to monitoring their signals and reporting results under static loads.
All stakeholders involved in the area of competence of blade testing are welcome as participants, including: RETLs (Renewable Energy Testing Laboratories), applicant RETLs and other testing facilities approved by IECRE SG551, such as RECTFs (Renewable Energy Customer Test Facilities), IECRE member organizations (including OEMs, end users, RECBs) and other organizations approved by SG551.
The latest Blade Testing PT was performed in 2018, following a completely different methodology. The full report is available for consultation and download on the Measnet website.
Measnet has been working with IECRE since 2015 to provide and perform PTs in accordance with this organization’s standards.
