Wind Sensor Calibration, new designation of the Anemometer Calibration ExG

Wind Sensor Calibration ExG

• With this change, the MEASNET Expert Group intends to addapt its official nomenclature to the wide range of measurements covered by this competence area.

• The new name was approved by the Council of Members in its annual meeting, held last April in Madrid.

Madrid, 2025.06.18.- The MEASNET Anemometer Calibration Expert Group has been officially renamed as Wind Sensor Calibration. The new nomenclature was approved by the Council of Members in its annual meeting, held in early April in Madrid.

This working team, currently coordinated by Alina Ross, is one of the most veteran Expert Groups in the association. This change is intended to more accurately reflect the scope of its activities, given the wide range of measurements covered by this competence area.

MEASNET (International Network of Wind Energy Measurement Institutes) counts on six official Expert Groups, specialized in specific measurement tasks, which advise and support the Executive Board and the Council of Members on the definition of the measurement procedures.

Face-to-face meeting

In addition to attending the meeting between the MEASNET Executive Board and the other Expert Groups Coordinators, the former Anemometer Calibration ExG held a face-to-face meeting in Madrid.

In this forum, the members had the opportunity to discuss topics relevant to their joint work, such as the issuing of a new procedure for wind direction sensor calibration, which has been released recently.
