Sokratis Tentzerakis, re-elected as the Coordinator of the Electrical Characteristics Expert Group
• Dr. Tentzerakis is an Electrical Engineer, Subject Matter Expert in Service Line Electrical Characteristics of UL Solutions.
• ExG Coordinator since 2021, he owns an extensive experience in the field of power quality and grid connection and compliance of power generating units.
Madrid, 2025.05.22- Dr. Sokratis Tentzerakis has just been re-elected as the Coordinator of the MEASNET Electrical Characteristics Expert Group. He has been serving in this position since 2021.
In this role, he will be the focal point between the MEASNET Executive Board and the Expert Group. Among other functions, he will organise and keep track of the group’s work. He will also act as this collective’s spokesperson at the yearly face-to-face meeting with the Executive Board and the coordinators of the other MEASNET Expert Groups.
Dr. Tentzerakis has been a member of the Electrical Characteristics Expert Group since 2004. After being Deputy Coordinator since 2012, he was elected as the Coordinator by his group colleagues in 2021.
With an extensive experience in the field of power quality and grid connection and compliance of power generating units, Dr. Sokratis Tentzerakis is an Electrical Engineer, Subject Matter Expert in Service Line Electrical Characteristics of UL International GmbH (UL Solutions) since 2022.
He is member of the German Association VDE, the FGW TG3 Working Group, the IEC 61400-21 Working Groups TC 88 (Subgroups WG 21 and WG 60) and IECRE (Taskforce TF004). He holds a prolific publication record, with more than 30 contributions to specialized magazines and conferences.
The MEASNET Electrical Characteristics Expert Group consists of eight laboratories: CEPRI, CRES, DNV, Energy to Quality (Barlovento Applus+), NREL, UL Solutions, WIND-consult and windtest grevenbroich.
About MEASNET
MEASNET, International Network of Wind Energy Measurement Institutes, is a non-profit organization for accredited technical service providers engaged in the field of wind energy. Founded in 1997, its goal is to ensure high quality measurements, uniform interpretation of standards and recommendations, as well as interchangeability of results.
MEASNET currently counts 29 members, which are technical laboratories from Australia, China, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Spain, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, and The United States.
Since 2015, MEASNET holds an agreement with IECRE to offer and perform Proficiency Tests under the rules of IECRE as a privileged partner. Furthermore, in 2019, MEASNET signed an A-Liaison with the IEC TC 88 group to promote technology transfer and speed up the process of development and updating of technical guidelines.
