Measnet releases updated Acoustic Noise Measurement Procedure

Madrid, 2025.10.07.- The Measnet Acoustic Noise Expert Group has just released the version 4 of the Acoustic Noise Measurement Procedure. It is available for consultation and download on the Measnet website, “Documents” section.

The Expert Group, under the coordination of Fermín Regueiro, has updated this procedure to reflect the current operational practices of its members, as the previous version referred to an IEC standard which has now become obsolete. Currently, all members of the Measnet Acoustic Noise Expert Group are working with the latest version of the IEC standard: IEC 61400-11 ed3.1 (2018), Wind Turbine Generator System – Part 11: Acoustic Noise Measurement Techniques.

The Measnet procedure does not introduce any deviation from the current IEC standard, which includes and updates all the information from previous versions.

Measnet, International Network of Wind Energy Measurement Institutes, is a non-profit organization for accredited technical service providers engaged in the field of wind energy. Founded in 1997, its goal is to ensure high quality measurements, uniform interpretation of standards and recommendations, as well as interchangeability of results.
