Measnet Acoustic Noise Measurement Procedure v4 now available

• The Expert Group has updated this procedure to reflect the current operational practices of its members.

• The Measnet procedure does not introduce any deviation from the latest version of the IEC standard.

Madrid, 2025.10.12.- The Measnet Acoustic Noise Expert Group has just released the version 4 of the Acoustic Noise Measurement Procedure.

It is available for consultation and download on the Measnet website, “Documents” section. 

The Expert Group, under the coordination of Fermin Regueiro (Aresse Engineering), has updated this procedure to reflect the current operational practices of its members, as the previous version referred to an IEC standard which has now become obsolete. They are currently working with the latest version of the IEC standard: IEC 61400-11 ed3.1 (2018), Wind Turbine Generator System – Part 11: Acoustic Noise Measurement Techniques.

The Measnet procedure does not introduce any deviation from the mentioned IEC standard, which includes and updates all the information from previous versions.

Measnet, International Network of Wind Energy Measurement Institutes, is a non-profit organization for accredited testing and technical service providers engaged in the field of wind energy. Founded in 1997, its goal is to ensure high quality measurements, uniform interpretation of standards and recommendations, as well as interchangeability of results.

MEASNET currently counts 30 members, which are technical laboratories from Australia, Denmark, Germany, Greece, P.R. China, Spain, The Netherlands, Türkiye, The United Kingdom, and The United States.

Since 2015, MEASNET collaborates with IECRE to provide and perform Proficiency Tests under its rules. Furthermore, in 2019, MEASNET signed an A-Liaison with the IEC TC 88 group to promote technology transfer and speed up the process of development and updating of technical guidelines.
